Everywhere I turn in town right now the trees are starting to rejoice in the coming of spring! I’ve been keeping track of bloom forecasts for about a month now in anticipation of the coming weeks. I will welcome 36 families this spring for mini-sessions, which is definitely a springtime record for me. Today, I am excited to share this Romantic Spring Maternity Session at Maymont Park here in Richmond from last March. Lauren had a clear vision for a soft and feminine session to celebrate the upcoming arrival of her first baby boy. Her and her husband met me on a fairly warm day in early March and we explored the Italian Gardens together. I had no idea this gorgeous tulip magnolia tree would be in bloom, but oh what a surprise it was to happen up that!

The delicate, soft pink petals complimented Lauren’s Baltic Born dress perfectly and made her David Yurman blue topaz ring pop. I was able to get Phil in for some sweet portraits and snuggles alongside Lauren throughout our time together. He was happy to let Lauren shine, though – and doesn’t she do just that?! Newborn sessions are definitely my favorite, but I’m telling you what… this past year I have had some amazing maternity sessions! I know I’m WAY behind on posting to the journal! I’m working on it.
